Not-for-profit human services agency located in Schoharie County, New York seeks Finance Director to provide oversight of its financial, HR, and agency administrative services.
Essential Functions: Provide daily oversight of agency fiscal operations; collaborate with management team on department budgets, grant writing; provide support to executive director with risk management, development of policies, procedures and internal controls; provide supports to independent auditor and contractual stakeholders; preparation of financial reports to the board of directors.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with minimum two (2) years supervisory experience and three (3) years upper level non-profit finance management experience OR Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field with minimum two (2) years supervisory experience and five (5) years upper level non-profit finance management experience; demonstrated knowledge of federal and state contract management; experience with budget/contract management and grant writing.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Computer experience with accounting software (Sage is preferred) and Microsoft Office products especially Excel; excellent written and verbal communication skills; highly organized with attention to detail; ability to be self-directed.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Other: Possess a valid NYS driver’s license, have reliable transportation, and the ability to travel and stay overnight(s) for trainings. Familiarity with human service programs in Schoharie County is a plus.
