Community Action ~ Helping People Changing Lives

Family Development Model

SCCAP staff is utilizing a new method for providing customer service. Our goal is to integrate all of our services using the Family Development Model and Result Oriented Management Accountability (program outcome measures). Family Development entails working with the entire family to achieve a "healthy interdependence" within their communities. The empowerment approach as opposed to the deficit approach is used to assist families in achieving their goals. Helping families to recognize and build on their strengths to develop goals and reach them is crucial to our state's and country's future. Healthy families are interdependent with extended family members, friends, fellow members of spiritual organizations, cultural groups, neighbors, co-workers, businesses, social and civic organizations, schools, day care programs, healthcare providers and others.
